![]() However, Blender is moving to using Vulkan with a compatibility layer for Apple's Metal API which is available on IOS so at some point in the future that particular barrier may no longer be relevant. One issue I can see is that Blender currently uses OpenGL to while to my knowledge IOS only offers OpenGL ES so porting Blender would at the very least require some sort of compatibility layer and at worst a complete re-implementation of large swaths of existing code. ![]() I haven't heard of any plans to make Blender run natively IOS and I can easily see how it would be quite difficult actually. That's why you can't simply run Windows programs on a computer running Linux even if they're literally the exact same machine (such as when dual-booting). The program needs to be compiled for a specific OS and to do that all of its dependencies must be met on that OS. You need more than a suitable processor to run a program. Blender only targets Windows, Linux, and MacOS while iPads run IOS. ![]()
